Pastitsio

INGREDITENTS

* 1 Lbs. ground beef

* 1 Lbs. ground Italian sausage

* 1 Large yellow onion

* Red wine (any kind) this is not a necessary ingredient

* 1/4 Tsp. ground cinnamon

* 1 Large jar of tomato sauce (I used the vodka sauce - it takes away the sweetness of regular tomato sauce).

* 1 Small jar of alfredo sauce

* Oregano

* 1 1/2 Cup water

* 1 Lbs. Ziti noodles


 

INSTRUCTIONS

* In a large cooking pan cook your beef and sausage, add onion, oregano

* Drain grease, add water, UNCOOKED ziti, oregano, tomato sauce and bring to a boil, I added my red wine at this time or you can leave it out, simmer for 20 minutes. STIR OFTEN.

* 1/4 tsp. cinnamon (I got a little pour happy so take it easy on the cinnamon. If too much add parm. cheese, and it will simmer down the cinnamon taste.

* Pre heat broiler while this is simmering

* Once 20 minutes or ziti is tender, Pour evenly alfredo sauce on top of ziti dish.

* Put pan inside broiler and bake for 5 minutes turning it to crisp all sides of the ziti and starts to bubble.

* Take out add more oregano and enjoy. This is my favorite dish..... I love a good pasta dish. ♥♥♥
